Autumn

An original unique embroidery made with dyed felted fibres, free machine stitching in cottons, and other threads. Also layered/couched threads, other felted fibres and other assorted snipped textile bits.

I made this piece in autumn 2024. The baked and dried colours of the grasses, the fading leaves and sky, are contrasted by the bright ragwort that is prevelant in the field just a short walk along our lane. Quite different from the vibrant summer colours, a time for quiet reflection, and peace.
