Ditch

An original unique embroidery made with hand dyed felted sheep fleece, free machine stitching in viscose, cotton and metallic threads. Also layered organza, other felted fibres and assorted fabrics.

I made this piece in 2023. We are high up on the West Pennine Moors, and are surrounded by rough grassland. With many varieties of grasses and rushes, these collect in dips. After rain, or dew, the grasses twinkle in the sunlight, making for a firework display.  I have tried to capture their beauty in this piece.
