Oscar's tree

An original unique embroidery made with felted fibres, free machine stitching in cottons and viscose threads. Also layered/couched threads.

I made this piece in autumn 2019. Sadly no longer with us, our cat Oscar, loved to walk with us through the fields. This was his favourite tree, which we had great difficulty to get him down from. He would be up the tree in a flash as soon as he saw it. I have painted and embroideed this tree many times.

This winter version, with the faded grasses is the one I still have. Other versions have been gifted to family and friends. This windswept Oak Tree Embroidery is a memory of Oscar, and our winter walks.
