Some mornings begin with an unforgettable sky.

This embroidery was inspired by the view from my home on a December morning, when I looked across the fields to see the dawn unfolding in extraordinary shades of pink, lilac and gold. The winter grass was still in shadow while the first sunlight transformed the sky into something almost unreal.
It is a familiar view that I see every day, yet it is never the same twice. On this particular morning the colours were so fleeting and so beautiful that I felt compelled to capture them in thread. The small cottage and bare winter trees anchor the landscape, while the vast sky reminds me once again of nature's quiet grandeur.

Creating this piece was my way of preserving one perfect beginning to the day—a reminder that even the most ordinary moments can become extraordinary if we take the time to look.
