This smaller interpretation of the same French landscape explores the scene in a more simplified way. The emphasis shifts from the wider view to the layered textures of the land itself, reducing the composition to rhythmic bands of colour and stitch.

The lavender, cornfields, hedgerows and swimming pool become almost abstract shapes, while subtle variations in thread and fabric retain the tactile qualities of the landscape.
