Created as an extension of my Galaxy series, this embroidery marked a turning point in my work. Rather than responding to a particular astronomical image, I wanted to see what would happen if I let colour, repetition and instinct take the lead.

Working with a simple arrangement of embroidered squares, I explored the interaction between vivid pinks, oranges and violets against a deep black ground. The repeating forms create a gentle rhythm, while small variations in colour and texture allow the eye to wander and discover new relationships across the surface.

Although abstract, the piece still feels connected to the galaxy embroideries that came before it. The glowing colours seem to emerge from the darkness like distant lights, reflecting my continuing fascination with space, wonder and the quiet sense of awe that comes from contemplating something much larger than ourselves.
