Original textile embroidery exploring colour, pattern and imagination.

This embroidery grew out of my galaxy series but is no longer based on any particular astronomical image. Instead, I allowed colour, texture and stitch to lead the way, creating a playful composition built from dozens of individually embroidered squares.

Working within a simple grid gave me a framework, but each square became an opportunity to experiment. Some contain bursts of colour, others quiet layers of fabric and thread, while embroidered stars, spirals and circular motifs appear unexpectedly across the surface. Rather than leading the eye to a single focal point, the piece invites the viewer to wander, discovering new details with every glance.

Although inspired by the colours and mystery of the universe, this work is less about depicting space and more about celebrating curiosity and imagination. It reflects the pleasure of making—of exploring materials without a fixed destination and allowing unexpected ideas to emerge through the process.
For me, embroidery is as much about discovery as it is about creating an image. Sometimes the greatest enjoyment comes from simply following colour, texture and instinct, and seeing where they lead.
