The final piece in my Galaxy Abstract series, this embroidery feels like the point where I became comfortable allowing colour and rhythm to lead the work rather than a recognisable image.

Using a limited palette of glowing oranges and vivid pinks against a deep black ground, I explored repetition, balance and the quiet movement created by small variations in stitch, texture and light. The embroidered circles introduce moments of energy that seem to pulse gently across the surface, while the softened edges of the stitched squares create a sense of warmth and luminosity.

Although no longer based on a particular galaxy, this work remains connected to my fascination with the universe. The glowing forms emerging from darkness echo the sense of awe that first inspired my Galaxy series, while embracing abstraction with greater confidence and freedom.
