Spring Garden is an exploration of colour, light and the first freshness of the new growing season. Rather than depicting a specific garden, it is an impression of spring itself—a landscape filled with emerging greens, soft blue skies and the sparkle of morning dew.

Built from densely layered machine stitching, the embroidery combines subtle shifts of colour with metallic threads that catch the light as the viewer moves. Small highlights scattered across the surface shimmer like droplets of dew resting on young foliage, changing constantly with the surrounding light.

The composition deliberately avoids strong boundaries, allowing sky, trees and garden to merge into one another. This creates a gentle, atmospheric quality that reflects the quiet transformation of the landscape as winter gives way to spring.

Although inspired by familiar views close to home, the piece is less about recording a particular place than about capturing the optimism that accompanies the first signs of new growth. It celebrates those fleeting mornings when the world feels fresh, luminous and full of promise.
