Like Tuscany 1, this abstract textile was created by cutting apart an earlier embroidery that never quite fulfilled its original promise. I was keen to recycle the piece, so I dismantled it, selecting the most successful passages and gave them a completely new life.

The angled strips create a looser, more playful composition than the first version, while hand stitching, textured fabrics and scattered sequins introduce movement and flashes of light. The colours still speak of Tuscany—sunlit woodland, olive groves, weathered stone and fields shimmering in the heat—but this piece is less about depicting a place and more about evoking its atmosphere.
